Copenhagen Fashion Week will not take place online, as many suspect, but will merely be postponed for a few days. This has now been announced by those responsible.
The fashion week will not take place from 4 to 7 August but from 9 to 12 August 2020.
The decision was based on various factors. Thus, other alternative dates should also have been possible. Cecilie Thorsmark, CEO of Copenhagen Fashion Week, explains: “We’re fortunate that the Danish society is opening up much more quickly than expected, making it possible for us to hold Copenhagen Fashion Week very close to the originally scheduled dates. All of our activities will of course be set up to meet applicable regulatory requirements,”.
She has received support in her planning from the Scandinavian fashion industry. According to her, Copenhagen Fashion Week continues to provide an important and much-needed platform for sales, exports and international cooperation in the industry, which is why maintaining the dates in early August is a decisive advantage.
