Fashion fairs move to Frankfurt: What does this mean for the Fashion Week in Berlin?

Many articles have announced that the Fashion Week in Berlin will take place in Frankfurt from summer 2021. However, this is not quite correct. Only the events of ‘Premium’ and the fair ‘NEONYT’ are moving. Now it is questionable to what extent this means something for the other events that are held during the Fashion Week in Berlin.

Other fairs such as ‘Panorama’ are very important for the fashion industry, too. In addition, the shows which present fashion from national and international designers also play a significant role. The extent to which buyers and representatives of the press would participate in a two-part Fashion Week must be critically examined. Especially in view of the fact that the image of the Fashion Week was tarnished anyway and had tried to reestablish itself internationally through new concepts.

Prognoses as to whether the move will be worthwhile for the organisers and to what extent it will affect the actual Fashion Week in Berlin remain to be seen. The concept for the events in Frankfurt is to be presented this summer.
