“Despite the adversity, we use everything we can. […] Frankfurt Fashion Week is officially opened.” Words from Frankfurt’s Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann (SPD) on an event that has never been there before: Following the theme “REFORM THE FUTURE”, Frankfurt Fashion Week is taking place for the first time from the 5th to the 9th of July 2021. The decision to hold the event digitally only was made due to the corona pandemic at the beginning of May. With a high number of different events, concepts from the areas of fashion, beauty and lifestyle are to be made tangible. The focus is on sustainable and digital topics.
At a press conference on the opening day, Peter Feldmann, Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt and Anita Tillmann, Managing Director of the Premium Group, provided an overview of the upcoming highlights. Anita Tillmann is particularly looking forward to the two conferences Frankfurt Fashion SDG Summit and New European Bauhaus – Workshop of the Future. She also mentioned the presentation of gamechangers such as the sustainable fashion label ARMEDANGELS and the German premiere of the documentary film The Remix: Hip Hop x Fashion presented by MCM Worldwide as two concrete highlights.
The digital content of Frankfurt Fashion Week is not only available to trade visitors. Recorded streams will be available free of charge to all interested parties as a video-on-demand series afterwards.
