Hard leather meets soft fabrics, light meets shadow and lush shapes meet slim silhouettes: Marina Hoermanseder’s AW 2020 collection is versatile and skilfully combines complex contrasts. Already in previous collections, Hoermanseder showed not only her expertise but also her love for the fashion of the 80s and 90s. Both decades were present in her current collection: for example with a pantsuit, a biker jacket with puffed sleeves or different lingerie variations.
Those who follow Hoermanseder on Instagram know that sustainability has almost always played a relevant role in her life. A highlight of the AW 2020 collection was definitely the designer’s typical strap skirt, which for the first time was made of the so-called vegan “pineapple leather”.
Further highlights were an iconic leather vase, which was transformed into the head of a python through an artistic airbrushing process, and a high-waist skirt consisting of over three hundred leather buckles.
