Ever since the song “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, New York City has been known around the world as the “Concrete Jungle”. Rebecca Minkoff was inspired by this jungle in combination with blooming spring flowers when presenting her Spring/Summer 2021 collection in New York City.
With the collection, the designer wants the modern woman to be able to express herself in all moments of life. Thus, you can see casual looks as well as voluminous silhouettes. The collection is completed by shoes and handbags reminiscent of the 70s. Besides colours such as caramel, khaki and bordeaux, materials from the era also make an appearance.
The “Concrete Jungle” was also reflected in the presentation as a bit of jungle was brought to New York City. “I always find myself drawing inspiration from both my love for the city and also nature, so this collection really embodies both of those environments.” the designer stated.
Rebecca Minkoff dedicated the collection to her family, who passionately supports her and her business.
