Did you know that nearly 100 million viewers watched the last year’s Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show? It’s not a secret that it’s one of the most-watched musical performance of the year. Megastars like Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake or Beyoncé already performed during halftime.
In 2019, however, the performance of Maroon 5 was met with heavy criticism. Unmotivated, unimaginative and far too thrifty: The performance did definitely not meet the expectations of the sports fans.
And because there is no better time than NFL’s 100th season to make up for the band’s messed up performance, NFL announced together with Roc Nation the performance of two megastars: Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
Two award winning artists that are established and love throughout the music industry. Not only has Jennifer Lopez sold over 75 million records, the singer has also been named to the TIME 100 list, Forbes’ Most Powerful Celebrity, and People’s first “Most Beautiful Woman in the World”. Shakira has also won numerous awards and is the only artist from South America to have a number one song in the U.S.
Super Bowl LIV marks Pepsis eighth year as title sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime Show and 18th year as an NFL partner. The event will be broadcasted on FOX at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020.
